Introducing my first shawl!
It is my Mother's Day present to my Mom, and was finally photographed and mailed off today. A week late, but Mom said she didn't mind.
Since shawl pins seem to be so expensive for what they are, I found a butterfly hair pin at Claire's with a removable stick just like a real shawl pin! Best part, it was on clearance! :-)
Pattern: Textured Shawl by Orlane's recipe
Yarn: Jo Sharp Alpaca Silk Georgette in Quince (#15)
Size: 48" by 23"
Amount: 3 balls exactly (I only had 2 feet left over.)
Needles: US 7
Mods: I added in more textured and stockinette rows to basically maximize usage of all the yarn since I used smaller needles and thinner yarn than the pattern suggested.

wow, that's really pretty. did you knit the two sides separately and sew them up, or just do it all together?
Very pretty! it looks so luxurious!
I love that pattern! I'll have to make one as the weather gets cooler (which will be a good long while). :-)
